The final day of classes at Creston Schools is Monday, which means students and families will soon be visiting area swimming pools for fun in the sun. So, when do area pools open?
Mark Huff, city park and recreation director, said this morning Creston public pool in McKinley Park opens June 6. The pool will then be open seven days per week with $3 daily admission and $125 for a family pass.
Huff said swimming lessons will likely start in late June and continue through July. Lessons last about two weeks and cost $35 per student. Also, the pool can be rented for private parties for $150 by contacting Huff at 641-782-2000 ext. 2.
Some area swimming pools have already opened including Corning (May 24) and Osceola (May 24). Others that will open today or later this week include: Mount Ayr (2 p.m. today), Greenfield (May 31) and Winterset (May 31).
