Justin Luther Lee Prom, 35, of Lamoni was cited for driving while suspended and Cherokee Lynn Blakley, 20, of Corning was cited for failure to yield upon a left turn after an accident 8:11 a.m. May 27 at the intersection of Russell Street and North Sumner Avenue.

According to a Creston Police report, Blakley, driving a 2001 Chevrolet south on North Sumner, attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Russell and struck a 1997 Pontiac driven north on North Sumner by Prom. Blakley said she did not see Prom’s vehicle before turning.

Damage estimates are $1,000 to Blakley’s vehicle and $1,200 to Prom’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 9:36 a.m. May 27 in the parking lot of McDonald’s, 608 Wyoming Ave.

According to a Creston Police report, Jeana Marie Benham, 62, of Illinois, driving a 2012 Dodge, backed out of a parking space in the McDonald’s parking lot and struck a 1995 Buick parked in front of the McDonald’s Redbox. Benham said when she got in her vehicle she did not see a parked vehicle, and when she was backed up she saw the vehicle.

Damage estimates are $800 to Benham’s vehicle and $800 to the Buick.

No citations were issued after an accident 10:16 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of North Division and West Prairie streets.

According to a Creston Police report, Ronald Eugene Jolly, 52, 503 W. Devoe St., driving a 2007 GMC north on North Division, stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of North Division and West Prairie, looked both ways, didn’t see anyone and proceeded, striking a 2005 Mazda driven west on West Prairie by Ashley Letha Pullen, 24, 1200 W. Adair St. Jolly said he did not see headlights or anything else indicating a vehicle was proceeding. Pullen said she had been having troubles with the headlights shorting out.

Damage estimates are $1,000 to Jolly’s vehicle and $800 to Pullen’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 11 p.m. Sunday on Quail Avenue.

According to a Union County Sheriff report, Zachary A. Springer, 21, of Afton, driving a 2001 Dodge south on Quail, lost control of the vehicle, went into the west ditch and the vehicle rolled onto its side.

Damage estimate is $4,500 to Springer’s vehicle.
