Christopher Schell, 27, of California was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, illegal possession of a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to have a driver’s license, failure to have insurance and operating with expired license plates, with charges of operating a vehicle under the influence of narcotics pending 7 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of East Van Buren Street.

According to a Lenox Police report, officers stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of East Van Buren for a seatbelt violation. The driver was identified as Schell. It was determined Schell had no driver’s license or insurance on the vehicle. After speaking with Schell and a passenger in the vehicle, officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located drug paraphernalia, marijuana and unauthorized prescription drugs.

The passenger was released with no charges.

Schell was transported to Taylor County Jail and was being held on $11,000 bond.

Aaron Magnum, 28, of Lenox was charged with driving while suspended, failure to have insurance and failure to have registration 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Brooks and Van Buren streets.

According to a Lenox Police report, officers stopped a car at Brooks and Van Buren for failing to display license plates. The driver was identified as Magnum. A routine check showed his license was suspended.

The car was impounded.

Magnum was transported to Taylor County Jail and was released on $566.25 bond.
