Southwest Valley names new football coach

CORNING — Southwest Valley athletic director Mat Beu announced Wednesday the school has hired a new head football coach.

“It is my pleasure to announce Mr. Bob Casagrande as the next head football coach of the Southwest Valley Timberwolves,” Beu said in a press release. “Coach Casagrande is a former Dakota State University football player and was recently inducted into their Hall of Fame.”

Casagrande has also served as an assistant football coach at Woodward Granger and Sioux City Bishop Heelan before leaving education to embark on a career in the private sector. He is the president of BCA Financial.

Casagrande coached the Southwest Valley junior high team last year.

He resides in rural Corning with his wife Taj and two children, Chloe and Kyle.
