Panther reunion

Creston baseball teams that won five consecutive conference championships under coach Vic Belger will be honored when the Southeast Polk team, coached by former Panthers Scott Belger and Dave Hartman, plays Creston Wednesday night at Panther Field.

Vic Belger will throw out the first pitch for the game involving his son’s team against the team he coached for many years. It has been 25 years since the 1989 team began the run of five consecutive conference championships. The era included a state runner-up finish in 1990.

There will be no admission to the game for all former Creston Panther players. A pregame cookout will be held during the JV game, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Introductions will be held after the JV game.

Fun facts/trivia contests will be conducted during the game between innings.
