Tingley Alumni Banquet
Eighty-six alumni and guests attended the 94th Tingley Alumni Banquet held May 26 at Tingley Community Building.
The Tull family hosted with a theme of “Come on Back to the Orange and Black.” School colors decorated the room. Also, items from Tingley’s trips to state in basketball and baseball in the 1950s were displayed.
Jenesse (Overholtzer) Tull welcomed the guests and gave the invocation. Everyone then had a meal of roast beef, country-fried chicken and all the trimmings served by the Tingley Wagon Wheel Café. The pie was made by Christina Hart Overholtzer, graddaughter of John and Mary Overholtzer.
Joyce (Overholtzer) Scott and her family from Bolivar, Mo., entertained. Skits titled “A Soup Opera” and “A Night at the Movies” were performed. They also sang several gospel songs.
Glen Tull brought the business meeting to order. It was voted to continue the banquet on Memorial weekend next year. Dean and Frank Eighme will serve as hosts.
The secretary report was read by Judy (Jobe) Pottorff. Treasurer Mary Sue (Pritchard) McIntosh reported a balance of $603.65. Both reports were approved.
Jenesse called the roll of classes by year with recognition of special years.
An auction took place to replenish alumni funds.
Glen Tull closed the evening.
