Ashley Jean Joyce Hinds, 22, of Mount Ayr was cited for following too closely after an accident 2 p.m. June 11 on South Sumner Avenue.

According to a Creston Police report, Hinds, driving a 2000 Ford south on South Sumner, did not stop in time after a 1997 Dodge driven south on South Sumner by Robert Emmett Schierbaum, 64, 1400 N. Elm St., came to a stop behind another vehicle attempting to make a left-hand turn, and collided with Schierbaum’s vehicle. Hinds said everyone slammed on their brakes and she was the last in line and unable to come to a stop.

Damage estimates are $3,000 to Hinds’ vehicle and $1,000 to Schierbaum’s vehicle.
