Two brothers charged with attempted murder June 13 in Adams County were released June 19 after the witness statement was recanted.

According to an Adams County Sheriff report, the two were charged after a confidential informant played a recording of Francisco Valenzuela admitting he and his brother Antonio Bermudez Valenzuela were planning to murder Michael Stein. The recording was given to law enforcement June 13. The case was dismissed and turned over to Adams County Attorny Andrew Zimmerman.

Francisco and Antonio Valenzuela were held on $25,000 bond each before being released.

Zimmerman refused to comment on why the case was dismissed.
