Creston freshman girls swept visiting Carroll Kuemper Catholic Friday, 9-6 and 11-6.

Leah Stow and Taylor Fredrickson each had two hits in the opener. Hannah Fogle pitched five innings, allowing seven hits with two strikeouts and only one walk.

Morghan Frey pitched two innings of the second game, with no walks and a strikeout. She was relieved by Cammy Rutherford. MyKenna Hribal and Makala Davis each had two hits.

“As we progress, we are getting into cleaner games,” Creston coach Rich Gander said. “Hannah Fogle pitched another good game and our infield defense was a strength. The girls were excited to get their first wins of the season.”

Creston (2-5) travels to Clarinda Wednesday and hosts Glenwood Thursday.
