Marcella “Jean” Johnson, 69, of Papillion, Neb., formerly of Creston, died June 27, 2014.

Celebration of Life services were held July 19 at the home of Steve and Angi Kerby in Bellevue, Neb. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to do an act of kindness and hug someone you love in her memory.

Jean spent her early years in Creston before relocating to Casper, Wyo., in 1980. She made a home in Wheatland, Wyo., for 25 years before relocating to Papillion, Neb., to be near family.  

Jean’s residence the past 5 years was at Trinity Courtyard (aka “JJ”) where she actively enjoyed friends, neighbors and the Red Hat’s and Garden/Nature club. Heartfelt thanks to all those she shared her life with and for whom she loved with special thanks to the staff at Trinity Courtyard, Papillion emergency personnel, doctors and nurses who cared for her with kindness and dignity.

Jean is survived by husband David Johnson, daughter Angela (husband Steve) Kerby (Goben), grandson Brandon (wife Mary) Kerby, great-granddaughter Sofia Kerby, sisters Shirley McCart of Council Bluffs, IA, Bobbie (husband Mike) Mohler of Reasnor, IA, and Pam (husband Dan) Jordan of Lenox, IA.

Jean was preceded in death by parents Truman and Fern Adams and brother L.T. Adams.
