BOONE — The Iowa High School Athletic Association released the district baseball pairings for Class 1A and Class 2A on Wednesday.
In Class 1A District 15, Lenox (16-4) opens against Stanton (5-9) at 7 p.m. on July 15 in Lenox. Nishnabotna (12-6) plays against (7-10) at 5 p.m. July 15 in Lenox. The winners of those two games meet in the district semifinals at 7 p.m. on July 17 in Lenox.
On the top half of District 15, Fremont-Mills (11-5) receives a bye and plays the winner of Essex and Clarinda Academy. The other quarterfinal matchup is Sidney (9-6) against East Mills (5-7).
The District 15 final is 7 p.m. July 19 in Essex. District 15 is paired with District 16, which includes Underwood (14-4) and Exira/EHK (14-2). The Substate 8 final is 7 p.m. July 22 in Glenwood.
In Class 1A District 13 (6-9) travels to Class 1A sixth-ranked Martensdale-St. Marys (23-6) for the district opener. That game begins at 7 p.m. on July 15.
The opening game in St. Marys on July 15 features Nodaway Valley (8-9) against Iowa Christian Academy (8-7) at 5 p.m.
The winners of those two games meet in St. Marys at 7 p.m. on July 17 in the district semifinal.
The bottom half of the District 13 bracket includes East Union (1-14) traveling to Lamoni to face the host Demons (10-6) at 7 p.m. on July 15. The opening game in Lamoni that night is Mount Ayr (9-12) against Murray (5-8) at 5 p.m.
Winners of those two games face off at 7 p.m. July 17 in Lamoni. The District 13 final is 7 p.m. July 19 in St. Marys.
District 13’s winner travels to Dowling Catholic for a 7 p.m. game on July 22 in the Substate 7 final against the winner of District 14, which includes Coon Rapids-Bayard (17-5).
In Class 2A District 15, Southwest Valley (2-13) travels to Van Meter to take on Panorama (3-12) in the opening round game at 5 p.m. on July 12. The winner of that game earns a return trip to Van Meter to take on the host Bulldogs (21-1) at 7 p.m. on July 15.
The other half of the bracket features West Central Valley against Woodward Academy in an opening round game, with the winner facing Ogden at 5 p.m. on July 15 in Van Meter. The District 15 final is 7 p.m. July 19 in Van Meter.
The winner of District 15 travels to Harlan for a 7 p.m. July 22 game against the District 16 champion. District 16 includes Council Bluffs St. Albert (16-4) and Treynor (17-5).
