Luke Alan Johnson, 40, 402 S. Stone St., was charged with going armed with intent, carrying weapons and domestic abuse assault impeding flow of air and/or blood 3:11 a.m. Thursday at Fillmore and Douglas streets in Afton.

According to a Union County Sheriff’s report, Johnson walked from Creston to Afton while carrying a loaded revolver. In Afton, Johnson arrived to his girlfriend’s residence, 101 E. Fillmore St., where he committed a domestic abuse assault by strangulation and knowingly impeded the normal breathing and circulation of blood flow of a female victim. Johnson pulled his revolver and pointed it at two occupants of the residence as the another male took off from the residence. Johnson was stopped by officers in the City of Afton after the incident and records showed he did not have a valid permit to carry weapons.
