AFTON — Afton Federated Garden Club encourages flower lovers to enter horticulture specimens, container grown plants and design division entries at the Union County Fair in Afton. Entries will be accepted 8 to 11 a.m. July 21 with judging to begin at 1 p.m. Entry release date is 2 to 4 p.m. July 24.

There is a 50 cent entry fee for each exhibit. Premiums of $1.25, $1 and $.75 will be given in each class. All horticultural entries must be grown by the exhibitor. Men, women and children age 14 and younger are encouraged to participate. Participants are permitted to use wedging to hold plants upright: packing peanuts, plastic wrap or foil could be used.

Exhibitors should mark containers in an inconspicuous place and prepare a written list of entries before arriving.
