Booster club

Creston Activities Booster Club will meet 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at A&G Steakhouse and Lounge.

Agenda includes officers for next year with installation in August; comparison of prices and offerings at other Hawkeye 10 concession stands; planning for meal and volunteers at Aug. 15 freshman orientation; student membership city canvass on Aug. 17; review of booster club clothing at Farm and Home and Adams Street Espresso, including items for Crazy Daze sales.

Softball banquet

The Creston softball banquet has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, July 25, in the Creston High School commons.

Families are asked to bring a main dish, salad or dessert and place settings. Drinks will be provided.

All family members and friends of Creston softball are invited.

Bowling meeting

The Creston USBC Bowling Association annual meeting has been schedule for Friday, July 18.

A social gathering will be held at 6 p.m., followed by the meeting and election at 6:30 p.m.

Pizza will be provided after the meeting.

Iowa tickets

IOWA CITY — The University of Iowa Athletics Ticket Office began selling single-game tickets to home football games on Friday.

Tickets may be purchased online online at or by phone at 1-800-IA-HAWKS. The UI Athletics Ticket Office, located in Carver-Hawkeye Arena, is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Final ratings

Dubuque Hempstead and Waverly-Shell Rock top the Class 4A and 3A final ratings by the Iowa Baseball Coaches Association. The ratings released Monday:

Class 4A — 1. Dubuque Hempstead; 2. Waukee; 3. Cedar Rapids Kennedy; 4. Iowa City West; 5. Des Moines East; 6. WDM Dowling Catholic; 7. Cedar Falls; 8. Southeast Polk; 9. Urbandale; 10. Lewis Central.

Class 3A — 1. Waverly-Shell Rock; 2. Sioux City Heelan; 3. Clear Lake; 4. West Delaware; 5. Fairfield; 6. Harlan; 7. Centerville; 8. Perry; 9. Algona; 10. Humboldt.
