Richard Lilienthal, 76, of Kellerton died July 13, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Friday, July 18, at Maple Row Cemetery in Kellerton.  The Rev. Skip Rushings will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Row Cemetery in Kellerton. Visitation will be held after services at Richard’s home, 208 N. Decatur St., Kellerton. Memorials may be given in Richard’s name to be decided at a later date. Richard Gene Lilienthal, son of Ruth Delight (Martin) and John William Lilienthal, was born July 31, 1937, in Danvers, Ill.

Richard was educated in Danvers, Ill.

In 1961, Richard married Nora Ann Moore.

He operated a field tilling machine in earlier years and later tilled on road construction projects.  

Richard is survived by his children, Todd (wife Carme) Lilienthal of Johnston, Ken (wife Kim) Lilienthal of Kellerton, Lori (husband Duane) Clayton of Creston and Victor (wife Shelly) Lilienthal of Mount Ayr; grandchildren, Christopher and Mitch Lilienthal, Kelsey (Bret) Hildebrand, Chance (Wendy) Greenman, Brandyn (Alli) Lilienthal, Chelsea (Kevin) Johnson, Amber Lilienthal, Stephanie (Cody) Sobotka, Joey Noble (Heather Moffett), Brandea (Jordan) Leach, Brock and Brady Clayton and Wyatt and Macy Lilienthal; great-grandchildren, Khloe Johnson, Daniel Hildebrand and Jenelle Hildebrand; brothers, John (Dorothy) Lilienthal of Bloomington, Ill., and Rick (Karen) Lilienthal of Downs, Ill.; sister Christine (Charles) Scott of Danvers, Ill.; sister-in-law Dorothy (Bill) Lilienthal of Carlock, Ill.; brothers-in-law, John (Irene) Gingerich of Mackinaw, Ill., and Bob (Shirley) Burgess of Illinois; and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife in 2009; brothers, Charlie and Bill Lilienthal; and sisters, Irene Gingerich and Shirley Burgess.
