Rosemary Waddell, 85, of Creston died July 13, 2014, at Creston Nursing and Rehab Center.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25. The Rev. Dan Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery south of Creston. Open visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Creston Animal Rescue Effort and Hearts United for Animals in Auburn, Neb. Rosemary Margaret Waddell, daughter of Inez Margaret (Gebhart) and Earl Graham, was born Oct. 12, 1928, in Diagonal.

Rosemary graduated from Diagonal High School.

On June 25, 1947, Rosemary married J.R. Waddell in Mount Ayr.

They settled in Benton for a short time before moving to Mount Ayr and later to Creston in 1952, where she worked as a housekeeper in different motels and did the bookkeeping for Waddell Plumbing and Heating.

Rosemary was an active mother and homemaker.

Rosemary is survived by her daughters, Peggy (husband Chuck) Erskine of Creston and Sondra (husband Eric) Benjamin of Auburn, Neb.; son Gary (wife Suzanne) Waddell of Henderson, Nev.; brother Richard (wife Jean) Graham of Creston; sister Dorothy (husband Bill) Stuart; grandchildren, Marcy (husband Troy) Donner of Creston, Torri (husband Jason) Kuonen of Maryville, Mo., Joe Conley of Creston, Stacey (husband John) Hayes of Orlando, Fla., and Sara (husband Terry) Bickford of Afton; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1993, son-in-law Sonny Conley and sister Donna Rae in infancy.
