Regarding the library issue

Why is the mayor and the library board so single minded when it comes to proposals about adding space on to the existing library?

They seem unwilling to even consider leaving the library at the current location. The so-called concerns regarding “unsuitable dirt “ at the lot to the south if true can be overcome fairly easy.

There has been a million dollars spent on the library in the last 17 years, and the board plans to sell the building for $200,000. That is in their fundraising scheme. Does this make good financial sense? Would you do this with your own property? NO! Well, then, why do it with public property? The mayor and the board he picked seem to forget that they are talking about public property.

No matter how much you get in grants and donations, eventually cost will be put back onto Union County citizens. I think most homeowners will agree we are way overtaxed now. Maybe funds that were already spent on the Lincoln School could have been spent to fix Creston streets.
