Tony Fienhage, 82, of Creston died Aug. 6, 2014, at Greater Regional Hospice Home.
At Tony’s request, no services will be held, with private burial at a later date. Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.
Henry Anthony Fienhage, son of Anna M. (Liertz) and Henry August Fienhage, was born June 24, 1932, in Creston.
Tony graduated from Creston High School in 1950 and Creston Junior College in 1953.
Tony spent two years serving in the U.S. Army from 1953-55.
He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1959 with a degree in pharmacy, and began working at Hanson Drug in Creston.
On June 7, 1960, Tony married Twylah Louise Cass in Creston.
Tony and Twylah purchased Hanson Drug Store in 1968 and owned and operated it until 1994 when he retired. Tony continued on part-time until 1997. Tony farmed and raised cattle for 35 years.
Twylah died Oct. 8, 2008.
Tony is survived by his son Henry A. “Bige” (wife Diane) Fienhage of Creston; and grandchildren, Tori and Anthony Fienhage, both of Creston.
In addition to his wife, Tony was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Mary Ann Martin, Betty Pinkerton, Ruth Butrick and Katherine in childhood.
