We need to move forward with housing, library

Creston

I would like to address the issue of selling the Lincoln School and land to the Omaha developer. We do need more housing for seniors and veterans with progressive market rates – not adding assets to the formula based on your income!

When the library first announced their plan, many of us gave our blessing, and I thought it was a worthwhile project, and they would get a grant and raise the money needed. I am finding businesses as well as the Friends of the Library as a group has also become divided. And the cost of the project has doubled.

We all need to show up and/or let your interest known 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at city hall. Maybe the meeting will have to move downstairs.

We need to move forward on both projects. Housing and/or a cultural center for the library. They could decide to go with the project with the grant and money needed to complete projects. I remain interested.
