Lenox catcher Dustin Gordon was the only area baseball player selected to one of the all-state teams announced by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association last weekend.

Gordon was one of two catchers named to the second team in Class 1A. Pitcher Otis Roby of state champion Twin Cedars was named captain of the 1A all-state team.

Roby, Glenwood first baseman Corey Bertini and Eddy Kraber of Martensdale-St. Marys were named to the 2014 All-State Super Team that included players from all four classes.

Besides being a dependable receiver of Lenox pitchers and halting opposing running games, Gordon was an offensive force in the Tiger lineup. He finished third in Class 1A this year with an on-base percentage of .690, while batting .462. Gordon walked 25 times and was hit by pitch 23 times, which ranked second in the state in all classes.

Winterset senior pitcher Andy Lambert was named to the second team in Class 3A.
