Cynthia Ray, 61, of Creston died Aug. 21, 2014, at Greater Regional Hospice Home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The Rev. Ken Halbur will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Open visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today with family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m. Christian Wake service at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25. Cynthia Rose (Feldhacker) Ray, daughter of Helen Marie (Kuehler) and Bernard “Barney” Anthony Feldhacker, was born May 1, 1953, in Spencer.

Cindy attended grade school at Milford and graduated from Creston High School in 1971 and also attended Southwestern Community College.

On Oct. 19, 1985, Cindy married Eldon Eugene Ray Jr. in Creston.

Cindy was a lifelong Creston resident.

Cindy worked at Wellmans as a key punch/computer operator; was a waitress and a homemaker, worked at Head Start as a teacher for many years and also operated her own business making ceramics and plastic coatings. She also was an insurance agent and worked at Trinity Lutheran Preschool, after a car accident.

Cindy was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters.

Cindy is survived by her husband Eldon Ray of Creston; daughter Kristal Marie (husband Nick) Allen; grandchildren, Erik Claire Allen and Kylin Marie Allen, all of Creston; stepdaughters, Tammy (Ray) Gabel of Topeka, Kan., Brenda (Ray) (husband Mark) Blazek of Winterset and Kristine (Ray) (husband Jon) Kautz of Creston; brothers, Ralph Feldhacker (Barb Sundly) of Hillsdale, Wis., Ken (wife Marg) Feldhacker of Creston, Stan (wife Ann) Feldhacker of Greenfield and Wayne (wife Alicia) Feldhacker of Creston; sisters, Jeanette Van Tassel of Sibley, Lucille Tuel of Schaller, Phyllis Lowe (Don Kracht) of Marion, Amy (husband Virgil) Heidebrink of Sun City, Ariz., and Elaine Moon Hines of Chariton; sister-in-law Penne Feldhacker of Sun City, Ariz.; 14 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Melvin and Francis Feldhacker; brothers-in-law, Dick Van Tassel, Mike Moon, Randy Hines and Don Ray; sister-in-law Bette Feldhacker; stepson Eric Ray; stepdaughter Melody Ray; step-grandson Tim Gabel; nephew Gary Tuel; niece Kathy Feldhacker; step-nephews, Jay Johannes and Bernie Johannes; step-niece Jeanice Neal; and great-nieces, Melissa, Stephanie, Tiphanie Manken and Amber Feldhacker.
