Norma Beggs, 83, of Clearfield died Aug. 25, 2014, at Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Clearfield United Methodist Church. The Rev. Shurmaine McAlpine and the Rev. Tim Maxa will officiate. Visitation will be after the service at Clearfield United Methodist Church. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date. Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given in her name. Online condolences may be left at www.watsonarmstrongfh.com.

Norma Jeanne Morey Beggs, daughter of Hazel (Barnhill) and Gene Morey, was born Oct. 5, 1930, at home in Taylor County.

On June 18, 1949, Norma married Roy Beggs in Clarinda.

Norma graduated from Clearfield High School in 1949.

Norma was a homemaker.

Norma was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star, Clearview Board, United Methodist Church, UMW, election board, library board, 17 Club, Neighborhood Club, Pinocle Club, Bridge Club and Neighborhood Singers. Norma also taught Sunday School and was a Circle and Cub Scout leader.

Norma is survived by her children, Greg Beggs of Clearfield, Markeeta (Craig) Baker of Bedford, Reeta (Gordon Still) England of Clearfield, Jeff Beggs of Creston and Jack (Kim) Beggs of Clearfield; grandchildren, Sarah (Kurtis) Freeman of Norwalk, Abby (Wes) Allen of Boseman, Montana, Matt (Amy) Baker of Kansas City, Mo., Marcy (Nate) Baker of Clive, Brent (Jodie) Baker of Grundy Center, Chris (Kaitlin) England of Clearfield, Jennie (Richard) Castelan of Creston, Jamie (Olivia) Beggs of Creston, Casey (Cassie) Beggs of Council Bluffs, Celine Beggs and Jakob Beggs of Clearfield, Blake (Sarah) Meyers of Oregon, Josh (Whitney) Brodie of Clearfield and John (Maddie) Brodie of Creston; great-grandchildren, Zane, Mason and Bryce Baker of Kansas City, Myah Freeman of Norwalk, Mattaya and Kendal Allen of Bozeman, Keaton, Corbyn and Kolby England of Clearfield, Kenna and Kyler Castelan of Creston, Madison Glass of Grundy Center and Marleigh Gunn of Creston; sisters, Verla Monk of Clearfield and Leona (Roger) Mahoney of Altoona; sisters-in-law, Merle Beggs and Fran Morey; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband; parents; in-laws, Guy and Pearle Beggs; brother Dick Morey; brothers-in-law, Darrell Monk and Don Beggs; nephew Curt Morey; and nieces, Ginger Millemon and Susan Beggs.
