Kirkwood sweeps Southwestern

CEDAR RAPIDS — Kirkwood’s two nationally-rated basketball teams earned a sweep over visiting Southwestern Community College Saturday. The No. 9-ranked Kirkwood women improved to 15-6 and 9-0 in the ICCAC Division II standings with a 126-43 victory. Southwestern slipped to 4-14 and 1-6 in league play. The second-ranked Kirkwood men moved to 20-1 and 7-0 atop the Division II region standings with a 73-55 victory. Southwestern fell to 11-6 and 2-3.
