Couple plan August wedding

Beth Clausen and Lee Madison, both of Orient, announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

Clausen is the daughter of Dennis and Deb Clausen and Madison is the son of Bob Madison and Dora Atteberry, all of Creston.

Clausen is a 2005 graduate of Creston High School and 2009 graduate of Buena Vista University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business management and administration. She is employed with Mid American Trenchers as an office assistant.

Madison is a 2003 graduate of Creston High School and 2004 graduate of Northwest Iowa Community College with a degree in the powerline technology program. He is employed with Farmers Electric Cooperative REC in Greenfield.

An Aug. 22, wedding is planned.

The McKinley Park Festival kicked off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday July 31 with a kids fishing contest. More than 150 kids participated in the contest. A bike parade ensued at 1 p.m. The parade was judged and two boys and two girls received new bikes. The Bill Riley Talent Show took place at the bandshell at 2 p.m. First-place contestants advanced to perform at the Iowa State Fair. And at 10 p.m., the Creston Shooters delivered an 18-minute fireworks display.

Starting school on Aug. 23, or earlier, is a good idea.
I agree, it prevents school from lasting too far into June.
