Marvin Dillenburg — Mount Ayr

Marvin Dillenburg, 76, of Mount Ayr, died June 22, 2009, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Dan Fernandez will officiate. Burial with military rites by Ringgold Post No. 172 will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr. Open visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The McKinley Park Festival kicked off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday July 31 with a kids fishing contest. More than 150 kids participated in the contest. A bike parade ensued at 1 p.m. The parade was judged and two boys and two girls received new bikes. The Bill Riley Talent Show took place at the bandshell at 2 p.m. First-place contestants advanced to perform at the Iowa State Fair. And at 10 p.m., the Creston Shooters delivered an 18-minute fireworks display.
