Wilma Tyler Maynes, 95, of Lenox, died June 26, 2009, of cancer at Vintage Park Apartments in Lenox.

Services will be held 2 p.m. today, at the United Presbyterian Church in Lenox, with fellowship after. Interment of ashes will be at East Fairview Cemetery in Lenox.

Exira defeats Mount Ayr for 1A state championship
DES MOINES — On a fourth-quarter buzzer-beater, the Exira Vikettes defeated Mount Ayr in the Class 1A state championship game March 5 at Wells Fargo Arena. Among those attending the game was Peggy Whitson, NASA chief of astronauts and a Mount Ayr graduate.
