Barry Anderson, 52, of Creston, died Oct. 27, 2009, at Greater Regional Medical Center.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25. The Rev. Jim Morris will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery near Jerusalem Church northeast of Creston. Open visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Friday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials will be decided at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

The McKinley Park Festival kicked off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday July 31 with a kids fishing contest. More than 150 kids participated in the contest. A bike parade ensued at 1 p.m. The parade was judged and two boys and two girls received new bikes. The Bill Riley Talent Show took place at the bandshell at 2 p.m. First-place contestants advanced to perform at the Iowa State Fair. And at 10 p.m., the Creston Shooters delivered an 18-minute fireworks display.
