Lenox returns 'home' to UNI Dome with 43-20 victory over Tri-County

The Lenox Tigers football team will return to the UNI Dome Thursday, defeating Tri-County Thornburg 43-20 at home Friday. The Tigers slowed down 1,500-yard rusher Colt Brumbaugh, holding him to less than 50 yards in the victory.

Lenox receiver Dylan Douglas had two receiving touchdown in the game and Connor Lange recorded the only takeaway for either team, an interception late in the fourth quarter.

The Tigers (12-0) will face Preston (12-0), a 42-26 winner over West Central at 1 p.m. Thursday in the UNI Dome. This will be the fourth UNI trip for Lenox in the last five years. For complete coverage on the game see Monday's edition of the Creston News Advertiser.

The McKinley Park Festival kicked off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday July 31 with a kids fishing contest. More than 150 kids participated in the contest. A bike parade ensued at 1 p.m. The parade was judged and two boys and two girls received new bikes. The Bill Riley Talent Show took place at the bandshell at 2 p.m. First-place contestants advanced to perform at the Iowa State Fair. And at 10 p.m., the Creston Shooters delivered an 18-minute fireworks display.
