GRMC to hold H1N1 vaccine clinic Monday

A limited supply of H1N1 flu mist and injectable vaccines and a more limited supply of seasonal flu vaccine will be available 2 to 5 p.m. Monday at the Greater Regional Outreach-Public Health office.

This vaccine will be administered to the following CDC target groups:

• pregnant women,
• persons who live with or provide care for infants less than 6 months of age (e.g., parents, siblings and daycare providers),
• health care and emergency medical services personnel,
• persons age 6 months through 24 years of age, and
• persons age 25 through 64 years of age who have medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications.

There will be no charge to receive the H1N1 vaccine.

As more H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccine becomes available in Union County, additional flu clinics will be announced.

Starting school on Aug. 23, or earlier, is a good idea.
I agree, it prevents school from lasting too far into June.
I disagree, it is too early, especially if it starts before the end of the Iowa State Fair.
School should be year-round
