CORNING — A quick start in the first inning gave Creston sophomore pitcher Haylee LaMasters a 4-0 cushion to work with, and despite having to work out of jams throughout the game, it was enough of a cushion for LaMasters as Creston defeated Corning in the season opener here on Monday, 13-3.
